Snow, skiing & snowboarding, surfing, the beach, mountains, apple crumble, camping, the smell of hay, New Zealand, tiger's tummies (they just look so fluffy and ticklable - although we must stress, we've never tried this and don't suggest you just wander up to one to give it a tummy tickle!), wood pigeons cooing in the morning, the Cotswolds, hammocks, owls, baby gurgles, bacon sandwiches, friends laughing around a camp fire...
We've always loved camping and have spent many long nights under canvas. When we were younger we were in the Guides & Scouts so had lots of memories of sleeping in tents. Fast forward a couple of years...(decades) and we were getting tired of waking up in fabric tents; hot, clammy and grotetchy.
Having read up on canvas tents, we decided these sounded much more our thing. Cool and airy no matter what the weather and with plenty of head room for standing, we invested in our own bell tent.
After a happy summer camping around the Cotswolds and Cornwall, we thought how lucky we were to have such a beautiful tent that was always the talk of the campsite. The logical step was to enable our camp site guests to experience bell tent camping and so Cotswold Hills Bell Tents was born.
we're not sure who first said this, but they were quite right.
Our site is nice and spacious, so even when we are full you will never be too close to your neighbours - unless you choose to be!
Our shower block consists of four family sized wet rooms. There is a shaving point and standard electric point for hair dryers/straightners in each one. The toilets are accessed via a key-code which you will be issued with when you book in.
Sinks for washing up are situated on the side of our shower block.
Drinking water taps are situated either side of the entrance to the site. Bottled water is available to purchase from the farm shop.
If you book our furnished bell tents they come with a barbecue fire pit. Your own barbecue is allowed, as long as it is at least 1 foot off the ground. Please put the disposable ones on bricks well off the ground so as not to scorch it. Large blocks are available to borrow and are situated by the shower block. Please return the blocks at the end of your stay..
We have barbecues on swheels which can be hired from the farm shop. These are on a first come first served basis and can be ordered when booking. Anyone seen using a disposable or small barbecue which is damaging the grass will be asked to leave with no refund.
We are a 40 pitch family friendly site, so noise must be kept to a minimum at all times. No noise is acceptable after 10.30pm. Anyone who causes problems with noise, bad language or loud music will be asked to leave the site immediately - regardless of time of day or night - with no refund offered. If you think you might be noisy, then we are probably not the site for you. We can offer full site bookings for large parties/groups or gatherings - please ring to enquire.
Our shop is not only stocked with lots of lovely local produce, we also have everything you might forget, from toilet paper to washing up liquid, cornflakes to deodorant and everything in between.
*We can order in any papers/magazines for you, so if you have a special requirement please let us know.
